Hire

Our group offers a number of different hire services to the community. The prices are dependant on a number of factors so the prices presented are indicative and will be discussed when you enquire. To enquire please complete the form below. We will be very competitive on price as we are not a business and the items on hire are focused on supporting the community. In other words we are not looking to make a profit just make enough to keep the group supported.

Once you have decided what you need check the calendar at the bottom of this page to see if a booking has been made. If your dates are free you can request the hire via the booking form and we will confirm via email or phone.

Minibus Hire

Ford Transit 17 Seater Minibus.

The minibus has fully adjustable lap & diagonal seat belts to fit people of any age from pre-school to adult.
The minibuses are insured for all drivers 25 and over who have a category D1 or D1 (not for hire or reward) driving licence.
It has a towbar (we have a double-axle van trailer and a canoe trailer with 6 canoes for hire) and have full breakdown cover in case of any difficulties.
Our minibus has a safety check carried out by a qualified mechanic every 12 weeks in addition to an MOT and regular servicing.

Hire Charge

Hire charges are reviewed as required and include all fuel and insurance; you should have your own Section 19 - Small Bus Permit issued by the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions, enabling organisations to charge a fee to cover transport costs. A fuel card is available for extended use.

Charges from 1st June 2026 are £1.25 per mile.
Charge covers the cost of fuel and insurance.

Trailer

The trailer can be hired for £10 per day, £25 per weekend, or £50 per week.
There is a booking calendar on the website for the minibus and an enquiry form, include any trailer requirement on the enquiry form.

Fines/Insurance Claim

Excess of £150 would need to be paid in the event of an accident that resulted in an insurance claim.
Any parking tickets are the responsibility of the hirer/driver to pay.
Any speeding tickets or fines would have to be paid for by the hirer/driver.

Insurance Requirements

Cover is for Any Driver over 25. Subject to all drivers:-
Holding the relevant licence for a minimum of 2 years.
Having no motoring convictions in the last 5 years (spent or unspent).
Having had no accidents/claims or losses (regardless of blame) in any vehicle in the last 5 years.
Having no medical conditions that are reportable to the DVLA.
Having had no insurance refused or cancelled.
Having no non-motoring criminal convictions.
Being under 70 years of age.

A Driving Licence check will be required before the hire.

Box Trailer Hire

We have a Ifor Williams box trailer which can be hired, it is a twin axle with a barn or ramp door.

It has a 3500Kg maximum laden mass and Unladen weight 974Kg. Ensure your vehicle is capable of towing it.

Your vehicle insurance should cover the trailer, so please check.

The trailer is 4.7m long x 2.3m wide x 2,2m high.

Rental is £10 per day, £25 per weekend, or £50 per week.

Marque Hire

We have 3 sizes of Marque Tent that is available to hire. Prices are indicative and dependant on circumstances. Please enquire for a quote and availability.

Large is 12m x 6m - £450 for a weekend including setup and teardown within Dunfermline area)

Medium is 8m x 4m - £350 for a weekend including setup and teardown within Dunfermline area)

Small is 8m x 3m - £250 for a weekend including setup and teardown within Dunfermline area)

We will deliver locally and setup and tear down.

Note - For setup and teardown we may need your assistance. We will always provide someone who knows how to put it up but these are large and require between 4 and 7 people to erect. We are a volunteer organisation and it is sometimes difficult to get the bodies we need.

Crossford Scout Hall

You can hire our hall for children's parties or as a venue for you activity or business (fitness, martial arts etc).

The charge is by the hour but you are best to enquire for an accurate cost and to confirm availability.

The hall is big enough to cater for up to around a 100 people and we have a kitchen.

Crossford Scout Hall & Marquee Bookings

This Calendar shows what bookings have been made for the Scout Hall and Marquees. If the date you require is free then you can request a booking via the form below.

Canoe Hire

We have 6 x Canadian Canoes and trailer - Scout Groups only (buoyancy aids available on request). We also have certified instructors who may be able to run a session if available.

Don't forget to bring your own number plate!

For Scout Group hire we charge £50 for a half day or £70 for a full day. You must collect and return to Crossford. This includes paddles and buoyancy aids if required.
