Our group offers a number of different hire services to the community. The prices are dependant on a number of factors so the prices presented are indicative and will be discussed when you enquire. To enquire please complete the form below. We will be very competitive on price as we are not a business and the items on hire are focused on supporting the community. In other words we are not looking to make a profit just make enough to keep the group supported.
Once you have decided what you need check the calendar at the bottom of this page to see if a booking has been made. If your dates are free you can request the hire via the booking form and we will confirm via email or phone.
Minibus Hire
Minibus Hire
We have a 2016 Transit Minibus that can be hired. It requires a D1 Licence to drive and can be hired with or without a box trailer.
The cost to hire is based on the distance travelled. We charge £1 a mile which includes the insurance. To hire the trailer add £50 which is for the duration of the minibus hire.
Note we will confirm the booking with you asap but the paperwork will be done a few weeks before the hire (unless its an urgent booking).
Please read the following before proceeding with the booking process.
Driver needs to be between 25 - 70 with a D1 entitlement on their licence and have driven for at least two years. If you wish to tow a trailer over 750Kg you should have the D1 + E entitlement.
Your booking will be listed as provisional until you confirm the booking.
Driver(s) will need to provide us with an access code and their licence number so that we can access the licence online from DVLA about two weeks before the use date.
Each driver should have no points, insurance claims, convictions or endorsements in the previous 5 years.
Cost will be £1 per mile, a minimum charge will be made per booking of £50 which covers the first 50 miles. A charge of £10 per full day will be made for the use of the trailer. An invoice will be sent after use, payable by bank transfer.
The bus has 17 seats, including the driver.
The hirer will be responsible for any damage incurred; if the damage results in an insurance claim, then the excess (£500) will be required to be paid. The trailer is covered by 3rd third-party only. Contents will not be covered.
As a group, you should have your own section 19 permit, which allows the bus to be driven without hire or reward. This is available from Scouts UK & can be applied through the Scout management system. (Takes about two weeks, and costs £10)
The bus will need to be picked up and returned to Crossford.
For use in the UK only - no travel to the continent.
Box Trailer Hire

We have a Ifor Williams box trailer which can be hired, it is a twin axle with a barn or ramp door.
It has a 3500Kg maximum laden mass and Unladen weight 974Kg. Ensure your vehicle is capable of towing it.
Your vehicle insurance should cover the trailer, so please check.
The trailer is 4.7m long x 2.3m wide x 2,2m high.
Rental is £10 per day.

We have 3 sizes of Marque Tent that is available to hire. Prices are indicative and dependant on circumstances. Please enquire for a quote and availability.
Large is 12m x 6m - £450 for a weekend including setup and teardown within Dunfermline area)
Medium is 8m x 4m - £350 for a weekend including setup and teardown within Dunfermline area)
Small is 8m x 3m - £250 for a weekend including setup and teardown within Dunfermline area)
We will deliver locally and setup and tear down.
Note - For setup and teardown we may need your assistance. We will always provide someone who knows how to put it up but these are large and require between 4 and 7 people to erect. We are a volunteer organisation and it is sometimes difficult to get the bodies we need.

You can hire our hall for children's parties or as a venue for you activity or business (fitness, martial arts etc).
The charge is by the hour but you are best to enquire for an accurate cost and to confirm availability.
The hall is big enough to cater for up to around a 100 people and we have a kitchen.

Canoe Hire
Canoe Hire
We have 6 x Canadian Canoes and trailer - Scout Groups only (buoyancy aids available on request). We also have certified instructors who may be able to run a session if available.
Don't forget to bring your own number plate!
For Scout Group hire we charge £50 for a half day or £70 for a full day. You must collect and return to Crossford. This includes paddles and buoyancy aids if required.
