62nd Fife Scouts - Crossford

Welcome to the 62nd Fife Scout Group, where young people from ages 4 to 25 come together to learn, explore, and gain the skills for life. From camping and canoeing to climbing and much more, our group offers a range of activities designed to inspire, engage and equip our scouts.  Join us in our adventures!

About Us

Our group was established 1980, making us a proud part of the Fife community for over 40 years. The 62nd Fife Scout Group is committed to supporting young people in their physical, mental, and spiritual development. We embrace the "Skills for Life" agenda set by the Scouting Association, encouraging our scouts to play constructive roles in their communities.

Our Program

Our programs are designed for various age groups:

Squirrels (4 to 6 years old): Here, our youngest scouts learn the basics of teamwork and start their journey of discovering the world around them.

Beavers (6 to 8 years old): Starting to consolidate the skills they developed in Squirrels and building on the fun and friendship focus of the Beavers.

Cub Scouts (8 to 10.5 years old): Cub scouts engage in more advanced activities, where they start learning valuable skills, earning badges, and exploring the outdoors.

Scouts (10.5 to 14 years old): Scouts delve deeper into the world of scouting, with a focus on developing leadership skills, taking on challenging adventures, and serving the community.

Explorer Scouts (14 to 18 years old): As Explorer Scouts, our members become more autonomous, planning their adventures, but with a focus on life skills, social engagement and of course outdoor adventure through the Duke of Edinburgh scheme involvement.

Scout Network (18 to 25 years old): The Scout Network provides opportunities for young adults to enhance their personal development, social skills, and leadership capabilities.

Activities

We offer a variety of activities, including:

Camping: Our camping trips are an opportunity for scouts to connect with nature, learn survival skills, and build deeper bonds with their fellow scouts.

Canoeing: Our canoeing sessions are not just about navigating the waters but also about developing team spirit and understanding the importance of safety in adventurous activities.

Climbing: Climbing sessions at the 62nd Fife Scout Group help our scouts conquer their fears, enhance their problem-solving skills, and boost their confidence.

Hiking: It is not unusual to find us trekking through the Scottish Hills or even the Welsh Mountains.

Crafting and Practical Skills: We teach our young people a variety of skills from photography and sewing to building and starting a fire or using a knife safely.

So much more: We offer an array of other activities, all designed to promote personal growth, community engagement, and a love for adventure.
